Private Writing and Academic Coaching

Rachel believes it is essential to develop a rapport with students so they feel comfortable sharing, learning, and growing. Writing is a process of discovery and reflection, requiring patience and openness. Students achieve when they feel uninhibited and empowered to speak and write freely.

Rachel provides innovative private lessons, differentiated instruction, and consistent parent communication to ensure students' specific learning goals are achieved. She designs lessons to cater to individual students' strengths, development areas, and interests, with the objective of working smarter and building confidence. Rachel works to inspire students and arm them with new technical skills and executive functioning strategies that they can apply to each academic discipline.

Rachel appreciates the hectic lives of teenagers, therefore she travels to work with her students in their homes. If students attend private school, Rachel can also travel to work with them on campus during study hall periods.

"We hired Rachel Cederbaum for our high school daughter while she prepared her college applications.  Rachel is absolutely wonderful, intelligent, kind, and knowledgeable. I highly recommend working with Rachel!"

"Rachel's patience, demeanor and tactics to break down the reading and writing process were worth every penny. I feel like my daughter is better prepared for any class she takes now in high school or college.  She is so great.”

I now work as a professional writer and actor with work that has appeared in publications including The New Yorker and Huffington Post. "
