Rena Edery
Math/Writing/Science/Executive Functioning Coach
Originally from Gaithersburg, Maryland, Rena is grateful for the education and opportunity she grew up with. She attended public schools in Montgomery County and University of Maryland, College Park where she studied Environmental Engineering.
Rena has always felt drawn to one-on-one connections, building a network with families in the Best Buddies and Friendship Circle program. She has extensive experience tutoring/life coaching neurodivergent adolescents, and a wide range of special needs.
She is multidisciplinary, and will meet the student where they are at, targeting their root issues and executive functioning to ensure long term success and an empowered growth mindset when it comes to the student's relationship to learning.
She has worked K-12 as a camp counselor, and tutor. Her work at SafeSplash teaching swimming to special needs students helped in building trust, empathy, and patience.
She finds immense fulfillment in the process of instilling healthy habits and employing life-changing tools to help the student unlock their superpowers :) She learns so much about herself when working with students, and she hopes to be a support to students and families.
Rena is passionate in the arts and creation. She is always experimenting with natural mediums like bamboo and recycled material. She loves to share what she's learned in her travels and challenges with her students. Rena loves to run, bike, hike, bake, and spend quality time with her family.
Rena leaves time in any session to touch briefly on how the student is feeling in mind, body, and heart.
