Mattias Lenz

Math/Biology/Chemistry/Executive Functioning Coach

Mattias Lenz graduated from Loyola University Chicago with a BS in Molecular Biology
and a minor in Chemistry. At Loyola, he was awarded the Mulcahy Research Fellowship
for his contributions to biomedical research and potential in the natural sciences.
Mattias currently works at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), where he studies
blood-borne pathogens and the long-term complications associated with viral infection.
Mattias is looking forward to helping students strengthen their understanding of math
and science through conceptual learning rather than drilling problems. He believes that
mastering foundational ideas allows students to reason through challenges, building
their confidence in their ability to solve problems independently.
While at Loyola, he organized peer study groups to help classmates understand the
underlying mechanisms for chemical reactions and reasons for biological phenomena.
In his free time, Mattias enjoys volunteering, working out, and cooking.
