Alex Grant

Alex is currently a teacher and athletics coach at Edmund Burke School in Washington, D.C. He grew up in the DMV and overseas, and graduated from Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School. Alex has a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Dickinson College and a Master of Public Policy from American University where he was a research assistant and mentor.


Alex also has multiple years of experience as an English language tutor and instructor, both abroad and in D.C. Helping students gain confidence and find joy in writing is particularly rewarding for him. He loves helping students gain confidence and skill with math, reading, writing, and executive functioning skills. Alex believes that cultivating a fun atmosphere and guiding lessons with a student’s particular interests can lead to sustained intellectual growth.


In his free time Alex loves camping, going to record stores and rooting for D.C. sports teams.
