Christy Gill

English/Executive Functioning Coach

Christy Gill is a native Californian who has lived and worked in Northern Virginia for nearly 20 years, with 16 of those years spent in education as a teacher, SAT coach, tutor and teaching mentor. Her formal teaching career began in 2007 in Washington, DC, where she taught 6th and 8th grade English at Hart Middle School. While much of Christy’s career has remained with 8th grade, she considers herself fortunate to have spent the past 11 years at a 6-12 public school where she is able to teach all secondary levels. In addition to 6-8th grades, Christy has taught 9th and 10th grade English as well as A.P. English Language & Composition.

In addition to her teaching duties, Christy has found great joy in being the teacher sponsor of a Jane Austen club, two different senior classes, and as a teacher advisor and mentor. Christy holds a Bachelor's Degree in English from UCLA and a Masters in Secondary Education from American University. In her free time, Christy enjoys running, reading, embroidery and spending time with her 14-year-old rescue pomeranian, Teddy Roosevelt.
