Courtney Tisch
K-6 Reading, Writing, and Math Tutor, Executive Functioning Coach
Courtney Tisch is an educator and writer born and raised in Montgomery County, Maryland. After spending several years after college trying to be an actor as well as working at various non-profit organizations, Courtney decided to go back to school in 2012 for her Masters of Education from The George Washington University where she studied to become an elementary education teacher. Courtney has taught in Montgomery County, mainly teaching students in grades 1-3 in all subject areas. Courtney has a particular passion for teaching reading and writing utilizing a variety of creative approaches, never giving up until a student finds the approach that best helps support their learning. Courtney prides herself on meeting students where they are, and also enjoys providing support in math and Executive Functioning skills so students can best succeed in their everyday learning. Courtney promises to provide a fun and safe space for learning with her students.
Aside from tutoring, Courtney loves reading and all things Broadway. She is also the author of the children's book The Number on Her Arm which is about her grandparents who were Holocaust survivors.
