Kayla Cooper

English/Executive Functioning Coach

Kayla Cooper holds dual degrees in English Literature and Communication from Mount St. Mary’s
University. During her undergraduate years, she spent three years as a writing tutor at the campus Writing
Center, working with students one-on-one and in small groups. She has experience supporting students at
the dual enrollment, undergraduate, and graduate levels, and believes that building a student’s self-
confidence is essential to helping them meet their academic and writing goals.
Her approach to tutoring is grounded in encouragement, curiosity, and clear, thoughtful guidance. Kayla
has worked with students across a wide range of learning differences and tailors each session to meet the
individual needs of the writer. As a woman with ADHD, she understands firsthand that neurodiversity can
be a strength in the writing process. Her goal is always to help students leave each session feeling more
empowered, not just as writers, but as individuals.
Kayla is currently pursuing her Master’s in Victorian Literature, History, and Culture, continuing her path
toward a career in higher education. Whether she’s assisting with research essays, personal statements, or
creative writing, Kayla brings patience and a genuine love of language to every session.
