Kimberly Menefee
Math/Test Prep/Executive Functioning Coach
Kimberly Menefee’s career as an educator has been shaped by more than 20 years of helping students develop confidence and become successful mathematics learners. A National Board Certified Teacher, Kimberly has taught mathematics courses ranging from Algebra 1 and Geometry through Algebra 2, Precalculus, AP Precalculus, and Statistics. She also has extensive experience providing individualized tutoring to middle and high school students, including SAT and ACT Math preparation.
Kimberly believes that students are most successful when they understand not only how to solve a problem, but also how to approach learning itself. Her tutoring incorporates executive functioning skills such as organization, time management, planning, task initiation, study strategies, and self-monitoring. She helps students learn how to break larger or more challenging tasks into manageable steps, recognize when a strategy is not working, and develop the independence and confidence to adjust their approach.
One of Kimberly’s strengths as an educator is her ability to make challenging mathematical concepts more accessible by explaining them in clear, manageable steps and adapting her instruction to the individual student. Her SAT and ACT Math preparation combines targeted content review with problem-solving strategies, pacing, calculator skills, and recognizing common question types so students can approach standardized testing more efficiently and confidently.
Kimberly holds a master’s degree in English Language Learning, which has strengthened her ability to communicate concepts in multiple ways and support students with diverse learning needs. She values building relationships with students and creating an environment where they feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and persevering through challenging material.
Whether a student is strengthening foundational math skills, working through an advanced mathematics course, preparing for the SAT or ACT, or developing stronger organizational and study habits, Kimberly’s goal is to help each student become a more confident, independent, and successful learner.
When Kimberly is not working with students, she enjoys hiking with her husband and her dog, Frankee, or spending time preparing food and sharing meals with family and friends.
