Lauren Quinn

Lauren loves helping students through the writing process and working alongside them as they improve their skills and confidence! She begins each session by collaborating with the student on the goal or take-away, and ends with an assignment and accountability plan.

Lauren has worked with students of various ages and needs in reading, writing, and executive functioning skills. She currently leads The Writing Center at Walt Whitman High School, guiding students with English essays, research papers, and college essays.

When she advises on college essay development, she helps students look inside themselves and find their personal stories, the stories that show who they are, not just what they do. Lauren helps students express their best selves with clarity and conviction.

Her background includes work with students with learning differences and AD/HD. Prior to supporting students in Montgomery County Public Schools, she coached high school and college students at the Chesapeake AD/HD Center. She has additional experience as a communications professional, leading account teams and interns in writing, presenting, and planning.

As a tutor and coach, Lauren strives to bring a little more ease and joy to learning, especially writing.
