Michael Slattery
K-6 Math, Reading, and Writing Tutor
Michael has been a teacher in Montgomery County Public Schools for six years. His primary experience is teaching fourth and fifth grade, but he has also tutored and worked with students ages 4 and up. For the past two years, Michael has served as the Math Engagement Coordinator at his school, where he has developed a deep understanding of mathematical progressions and instruction from kindergarten through sixth grade.
Michael holds bachelor's degrees in Elementary Education and Communications from Salisbury University. He also earned a master's degree in Education and Teacher Leadership from the American College of Education.
Outside of the classroom, Michael enjoys staying active and embracing friendly competition. He loves playing a wide variety of sports and games and brings that same enthusiasm into his teaching. By incorporating engagement, challenge, and fun into learning, Michael helps students build confidence, develop a growth mindset, and discover the joy of learning.
