Robin Cheris

Executive Functioning Coach/Reading/Writing/Math

Over a 35-year career as an MCPS special education teacher, Robin Cheris has supported students with IEPs across elementary and middle school classrooms. She began by teaching students with significant needs in the School/Community-Based Program—pioneering some of the program's earliest inclusion efforts in general education—before moving to the Home School Model to co-teach all subjects across grade levels. Most recently, she co-taught 6th and 7th grade math.
Robin brings hands-on experience delivering evidence-based interventions in reading (decoding, fluency, comprehension), math, written expression, and executive functioning. Beyond instruction, she routinely developed FBAs and BIPs, implemented accommodations, and ensured IEP goals were met in general education settings, always working closely alongside parents to advocate for their children.
Robin’s teaching approach is steady, systematic, and rooted in warmth and positivity. She takes the time to understand each student’s individual learning style, interests, and emotional well-being to help them build real confidence.
