Victoria Valcarcel
Reading/Writing/ Science, Math/ Executive Functioning Coach
Tori is in her second year at an MCPS middle school. After working at the elementary and middle school levels, Tori found her new passion in supporting and mentoring students as a member of the media center team. She is able to provide academic, emotional, and organizational support to students across grades, and enjoys building positive relationships with individuals outside of the traditional classroom environment. She also works in the Special Education department in an administrative role, supporting case managers and IEP students throughout the day.
Tori is a graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park, with a Bachelors of Science in Behavioral and Community Health, and she brings a public health lens to all her work. She believes strongly that each student has the capacity to succeed when they are appropriately challenged and supported, and she has seen that cultivating a student’s own investment in their educational journey can overwhelmingly and positively change their outcomes. Tori believes in a holistic approach to learning that is centered on a student’s strengths and interests.
